Tony Starks Hot Rod |
All my models are designed to be admired for anyone who has the passion for the real thing but cannot afford it.(or can) So why not Print and build your very own model.
Developed from the existing "Freedom Roadster" for a Cosplay competition Nov 2016, the hot rod has a number of features.
White wall tires, front drop axle, Flat head V8, twin stromberg carbies, centre floor shift, extractors,Automatic transmission, cut down grill, side flames, fluted firewall cover, opening side doors, main steering arm to cabin for servo steering control and plenty of room in the boot compartment for an electric drive & radio unit. Boot attaches with 2 screws for quick access.
Over all sizes are 193mm wide 370mm long and height 135mm .
I use a Makerbot replicator 2 to print all my models and usually use 0.3mm and raft if i wanted to go slower i would use the finer settings.
I have had great success using spray putty and top coat for a very good finish, though Tony Starks Hot Rod is straight of the printer and only the boot is painted. The flames application could be improved as the PLA when printed at 0.5mm seems a bit translucent i have increased the size to 0.6mm and put some cut lines for the doors this has improved the appearance.
